Erasmus+ is the EU program for the grant of education, training, youth and sport in Europe. On June 15, 2022, the European education program Erasmus+ celebrated its 35th anniversary of passing. It is a unique European success story and the European Union’s best-known program. In the meantime, it has supported international stays by an estimated 12 million people – including almost one million Germans in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Enriching lives, opening<\/strong>minds<\/strong>.<\/strong>” is the slogan of the EU program phase 2021-2027. Erasmus+ activities focus on the mobility of learners and teaching staff. Through the unique experience of living, studying,<\/strong> interning or traveling<\/strong> abroad<\/strong>, participants gain self-confidence and improve their soft skills, discover other cultures and build interpersonal and appointment relationships with people from other countries. In higher education, online learning and teamwork are combined with short-term physical mobility abroad as part of “blended intensive” programs<\/strong>. The mobility activities are supported by language learning opportunities via the Erasmus+ tool for online language support <\/u><\/a>(Online Language Support, OLS) or other additional forms of language support. It is expected that around 10 million individuals, including students<\/strong>, learners, professors, teaching staff and training staff from all sectors, will participate in mobility activities abroad over the course of the program. The 2021-2027 program focuses on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions and the grant of young people’s participation in democratic life. A stay abroad is often one of the most exciting experiences in a student’s career. However, it also represents an organizational and logistical hurdle that raises many questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are personally considering moving to other European countries, the following brief instructions will show you the first steps. It is best to start gathering information about a stay abroad as early as possible. <\/strong>In any case, allow plenty of time for an application: if you are going abroad with the ERASMUS program, start planning at least ONE year in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
